Hive is a community arts charity in Shipley, Bradford. We deliver arts and crafts courses,workshops and projects from our centre in Shipley and across Bradford District.
We believe that creativity contributes to good health and well-being and helps to bring communities together.

Starting on 25th April, Tuesdays 10am - 12.30pm
The course includes basic woodwork skills that you can use for projects in your home and garden.
You will gain confidence in using hand and power tools. You will explore the different types of screws and fixings used for different DIY tasks.
You will learn how to measure and estimate quantities for paint, tiles and flooring.
The course also covers safe diagnosis of electrical, plumbing and heating problems and simple repairs where appropriate.
From Sunday 14th May, 10am - 3.30pm
Practical skills and techniques introduced.
The representation of the figure by other artists and how this can inform your work.
Skills in critical analysis.
Images,concepts and ideas introduced throughout.
Demonstration to the group and individual.

Material and Memory in Bradford 1880-2015
“Worn Stories” is a new two year project that will explore the heritage of textile reuse and second hand textiles in Bradford from 1880-2015, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The project will link past and present, identifying, interpreting and recording personal and community memories of arrival and belonging through stories of cloth.
