Hive HiveConnecting Creativity for over 30 years

Hive accepts referrals from statutory and community mental health organisations to participate in our wellbeing programme.

If you wish to make a referral to Hive, in the first instant please call 01274 598928 and book an appointment for you and your client to have an informal chat and a tour of Hive. If you both feel that Hive suits the needs of your client we will ask you to complete our referral form. We will then contact you with further information on the opportunities currently available.

The Wellbeing Programme at Hive is an arts in health approach where externally funded projects accept referrals from outside agenices for service users that fit specific criteria, which then aims to move people on to participate in our arts based adult education classes and independent drop-in service.

Our overall organisational approach is based on the 5 ways to wellbeing which incorporates, connecting, giving, being active, taking notice and keeping learning.

Our current projects are:

Thrive - a 5 year Big Lottery funded project. This project offers opportunities for people experiencing mental health distress to engage in creative group projects to improve confidence, well-being and reduce isolation. Participants will be supported by Volunteer Mentors and encouraged to move towards volunteering themselves in the creative or voluntary sector.

Please read our Information For Workers document (PDF file) before considering a referral to Hive. Thank you.

Make @Hive - This project provides access for service users through our Supported Drop-In facilities. These are small groups participating in creative activities across our facilities with the technical and personal support from a project worker.

Pop - This project is funded by the Bradford Youthbuild Trust and is free for young people 16-27 who have mild to moderate mental health issues or barriers to education, training and employment.  There will be blocks of 8 creative sessions running throughout the year. The sessions will also include the opportunity to take part in a Level 2 Certa accredited Team building unit.  The aim of these sessions is to provide young people with the skills and confidence to move into further education, training and volunteering opportunities.
